<aside> đź’ˇ As a Planner, you can edit your components' details directly within the Project module. This section will guide you through which details can be modified and how these changes can impact your planning process.

At the top of the component page is component specific information. User can define the main details like:
[1] Description - title of the component
[2] Remarks - any additional information that user needs
[3] Type of component, which is set by the product template in the component types.
[4] Parent component - allows to change the project hierarchy, incase a component was nested in a wrong place.
[5] Sequence

[6] Status - The overall status if the component. It’s defined automatically based on the status of the activities. To learn more about this topic check Component statuses
[7] The panel contains hours budget, worked and ToGo, which are calculated automatically based on the input from activities within the component.
[8] Reschedule button will optimize the project schedule to reduce the project length based on the properties set on components, activities and resources. The button can have serious effects on the project plan.
[9] Open in floorboard button, opens the work package view of this component inside the Floorboard module. You can learn mora about this view in Floorboard Dashboard - review the work that has to be done in your department.
[10] Save button, is required to save any changes that were done to the component.

Also, you can access different tabs that allow you to edit different component details:
[1] Activities: the list of activities for that component, which are required to build/complete that part. You can see more information about how to edit activities on the following page: Edit an Activity in your project.
⚠️Remember, editing the activities budget and hours to go will affect the component budget and the hours to go.
[2] General: From here you can check the component image and change it.
[3] Files allow you to add any type of file to your components. These files will then be visible in Floorboard - Files panel. It is also possible to add a panel layout, construction sequence, drawings, and other documents. Here you can also add a linked file, by saving the URL link.
[4] Structures allow you to check your block structures and relate new ones to the components. You can learn more about it at Component structures
[5] Relations is an advanced feature and permits you to create relations between components in the same project. You can learn more about it at Component relation
[6] Properties shows the list of the component’s properties.
[7] Parent activity is an advanced feature, that allows you to manually create a project tree in case your project tree cannot be imported automatically.
[8] Advanced allows you to edit the code and run the calculations and predictions.
